After 47 years, the iconic Athens band The B-52s ended its final tour with three shows at the Fox Theatre, followed by a show at The Classic Center in Athens. It causes mental whiplash to even acknowledge the ages of the remaining trio of “The World’s Greatest Party Band.” But Cindy Wilson is 65, Fred Schneider is 71 and Kate Pierson is 74.
The group will continue to occasionally perform — a residency is on tap for The Venetian in Las Vegas later this year — but they say this was it for touring.
