The Tennessee Titans’ first step in life after A.J. Brown was drafting Arkansas wide receiver Treylon Burks with the No. 18 overall pick they acquired in the trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.

With Brown gone, the No. 1 receiver role is currently up for grabs. The hope is that Burks, who is very similar to Brown, can step into that role sooner rather than later. Veteran Robert Woods is also very much in the mix.

With a potentially large role staring him in the face in his first season, it isn’t too surprising to see Burks have the third-best odds (+750) to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, according to Tipico Sportsbook.

Only Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett (+500) and Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London (+700) have better odds.

It might be unfair to expect Burks to come in and replace Brown right away, but there’s no denying that’s exactly what Tennessee needs with a shaky group of wideouts going into 2022.

Burks wouldn’t go as far as to say he’s Brown’s replacement in the wake of the trade and his being drafted, but he did say his goal is to “make a big impact on the team.”

“Honestly, just to come in and make a big impact on the team,” Burks said. “Change the culture around, be a part, and just make that brotherhood a lot stronger and just be a team player.”

With the way things stand now, Burks, Woods, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Dez Fitzpatrick are the Titans’ top four receivers.

For various reasons, that group doesn’t exactly inspire a ton of confidence. Hopefully Tennessee makes more additions to this group in the days and weeks ahead.
