Two people displaced after firefighters extinguish fire in Pleasant Ridge
Cincinnati firefighters have extinguished a structure fire that displaced two people in Pleasant Ridge, Tuesday morning.Click the video player above to watch other morning headlines from WLWT News 5Fire crews were dispatched to the 6300 block of Girard Avenue at 4:31 a.m. after a call from the homeowners stated they awoke to crackling sounds and the smell of smoke. Upon arriving to the scene, the crew found heavy smoke coming from the home and started a full one alarm compliment. At it’s peak, 42 firefighters were on scene of this structure fire.The fire was found in the basement of the building and was extinguished by fire crews. Officials with the Cincinnati Fire Department state that over $100,000 in damage occurred to the home, with moderate fire damage to the basement and smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.No injuries were reported, but two occupants have been displaced due to the damage.
