SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, an SUV crashed through the front of a plasma donation center off North Minnesota Avenue in Sioux Falls.
This is the 2nd time a vehicle has hit a building in two days, and at least the eighth occurrence in the city this year.

At about 8:45 a.m., a driver crashed through the front of the Talecris plasma donation center on North Minnesota Ave.
Police say the driver was a 66-year-old woman who hit the gas instead of the brake, which sent her 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee through the building. Police say she was uninjured and given a citation for careless driving.

Around 2:45 a.m. on December 10, police in Sioux Falls responded to a truck driving at 80 mph before crashing into a nearby motel.
Police say the driver, 38-year-old Nicholas Gali, was able to walk away from the crash and was arrested for DWI, vehicular battery, three counts of hit and run, driving without insurance and obstruction.

33-year-old Ashlyann Saathoff was arrested Nov. 14th, accused of sideswiping multiple cars, hitting a sign, a building and a bridge.
In court, the prosecutor said a video makes it look like some of the crashes were intentional, with Saathoff being seen driving around a parking lot before accelerating into a business’ front doors and crashing directly into a county cruiser, then getting out of her car and dancing or celebrating.

On Oct. 16th, a car crashed into a house near South Summit Avenue and 14th Street close to midnight.
Police said a 45-year-old man was taken to the hospital, and that alcohol use was suspected.

An SUV crashed into an apartment building around 4:11 a.m. on October 10th, injuring two people inside. An adult was seriously injured, and a child who was sleeping at the time received life-threatening injuries.
The SUV, which had been reported stolen, was found fully inside the apartment.
Police suspected alcohol was a factor in the crash, and witnesses said two women and a man fled the vehicle. No arrests were made.
Police said on December 11 that no new information on the investigation has been found.

On the 4th of July, an 18-year-old man was arrested on speed and drug-related charges.
South Dakota Highway Patrol said the man was driving a 2007 Ford 500 when he pulled alongside a Highway Patrol trooper driving on W. 41st St., making an obscene gesture and then speeding off.
The driver was clocked at over 100 mph when he lost control and crashed into an apartment building. A man in a wheelchair inside the building was knocked over and received minor injuries.

Two teenagers, 15-year-olds Milana Marie Reeves and Eric James Hopkins were killed in a catastrophic crash on April 27, when the Dodge Durango they were riding in hit a house at East 18th Street and South 2nd Avenue.
The juvenile driver, 17-year-old Damion Laurelez was charged with multiple counts of first- and second-degree manslaughter, vehicular homicide, vehicular battery and other traffic violations.

Emergency crews responded around 10:00 a.m. on January 2nd to Live Well Chiropractic & Allergy Relief, where a Ford Escape had crashed into the building.
