SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A warm day is forecast in KELOLAND as 70s return to many areas. That means high fire danger will be returning as well, with Red Flag Warnings in effect for much of southern KELOLAND.

The conversation will quickly switch gears tonight and tomorrow toward winter weather again. A Winter Storm Warning has been posted for the central and northern Black Hills for tomorrow, where local totals over 6 inches are possible.
By Wednesday, the chance of heavy wet snow combined with wind will affect far southeastern KELOLAND. A Winter Storm Watch for Blizzard conditions is posted for the areas shaded in blue on the map below.
The forecast shows the 70s today in southern KELOLAND. However, the wind will switch tonight to the northeast and areas of light rain and light snow will form on radar in northern KELOLAND. Watch the trends in the Black Hills tomorrow as the snow organizes during the the day. That snow risk will expand in Nebraska and eventually NW IA by Wednesday morning. The exact track of the storm will dictate how far north the accumulating snow goes on this system.
Like the last storm, strong winds are very likely late Tuesday into Wednesday in southern KELOLAND. Wind gusts over 50 mph are possible in NW IA.
