SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO) — To celebrate the Fourth of July, several cities around the state are having numerous events. Rain is predicted for some parts of the state on July 4, so check on local events to make sure the schedules have not changed. KELOLAND News will update this list as we are able this week.

  • The Sioux Falls Independence Day celebration starts with a Fun Run/Walk at 8 a.m. in Fawick Park. The parade follows at 10 a.m. with the route starting at Phillips and 13th Street and ending at the Levitt Shell. Lunch will be served to the first 3,000 attendees. Mogen’s Heroes will play at noon.
    • For those wanting to join the parade, Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation is hosting a bike decorating event July 3rd from 6-8 p.m. at Van Eps Park. Bring your bike or scooter and decorate your ride. There’s a $5 registration fee. 
  • Sioux Falls Fireworks will be hosting a display at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds on the Fourth. Gates open at 7 p.m. There will be food trucks, caricatures and several music performances. Fireworks start at 10 p.m. The event has free admission. 
  • The Black Hills Roundup rodeo in Belle Fouche runs June 30th through July 4th. Rodeo events are scheduled throughout the week with a parade on the Fourth and firework displays on July 3-4. 
  • Mobridge’s Sitting Bull Stampede Rodeo runs July 2-4, starting at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Several rodeo events are scheduled throughout the week. There will be a carnival, two street parades and a fireworks display following the rodeo on the Fourth.
  • Custer’s Fourth of July Celebration starts with a parade at 10 a.m. July 4. Flag ceremonies will be held at Veteran Memorial Park with a Children’s Fair at Way Park, both starting at 11 a.m. The Veterans Tribute Street Dance start at 6 p.m. with fireworks starting around 9:30 p.m.
  • Aberdeen’s Wylie Park is hosting a Fourth of July Celebration with a Storybook Land Theatre performance at 7 p.m. The Aberdeen Municipal Band will play at 8:30 p.m. before the fireworks display at dusk. Events in the surrounding areas, including Mina Lake continue into the weekend. 
  • Gold Camp Jubilee Days in Lead run July 3-4. Events range from live music, local vendors and food trucks. On July 4, a parade starts at 4:15 p.m. with a firework show starting at dusk. 
  • Fort Pierre’s celebration starts on July 3 with a rodeo performance at 7 p.m. On July 4, the parade starts at 10 a.m. A second rodeo performance will be held at 7 p.m. with a fireworks show following immediately after. 
  • Lennox’s Fourth of July celebration runs from July 3-7. The multi-day events include a volleyball tournament, a car show and a street dance. A parade will be held July 4 at 10:30 a.m.
