SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Sioux Empire United Way has received an unexpected gift.
The Sioux Empire United Way’s Coins for Kids fundraising program received a $50 American Gold Buffalo Coin that is valued at approximently $3,000. The Sioux Empire United Way says the donator has chosen to remain anonymous.
The Con for Kids fundraiser benefits the fundraising program dedicated to supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides free books to children from birth to age five.

Campaign Chair for Sioux Empire United Way, said in a news release. “Every dollar raised helps bring the joy of books into homes across the region. This gift will undoubtedly make a lasting impact on the lives of countless children.”
Last year, the Coins for Kids program raised over $29,000.
