SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Authorities in Meade County arrested a 35-year-old Piedmont man at 7 a.m. Thursday after finding the man unconscious in a vehicle while holding a needle in his lap.
According to the Meade County Sheriff’s Office, Tyler Gallant faces multiple drug charges after authorities found more than 20 grams of fentanyl pills, nearly 200 pills, 2 grams of meth and other drug paraphernalia.
“Illicit drugs, especially fentanyl and methamphetamine, continue to be a scourge on our communities,” Meade County Sheriff Pat West said in a news release. “The devastation these drugs cause can’t be measured. We will continue to do all we can to get this poison off the streets in Meade County and hold those who bring this poison here accountable.”
The case has been turned over to the Meade County State’s Attorney.
