SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A 30-year-old man has been booked into the Minnehaha County jail and being held on $1,000,000 bond.

According to the Minnehaha County jail log, Dylan Tyler Farmer was booked at 3:50 a.m. Sunday for arrest warrant charges of first degree murder and second degree murder.

The citations of first and second degree murder are listed for a crime that happened on Friday Sept. 6, 2024. According to court documents, the victim was found dead in an apartment in the 800 block of West Bailey Street.

Court documents say Farmer admitting to police shooting the victim in the face “because he touched a boy.”

This is the 8th homicide investigation in Sioux Falls in 2024. Police are still investigating a fatal shooting at Dunham Park on Aug. 25 and a woman who died from gunshots in a mobile home on Sept. 4.

Farmer was also accused of stealing more than $1000 from the Lode Star Casino and released on bond on August 8, 2024. He was scheduled to appear in federal court in Sioux Falls on Wednesday.
