SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Rapid City man is behind bars facing an attempted murder charge.
Rapid City Police say that on Thursday around 6:30 p.m., they were dispatched to the 700 block of E. North Street for a report of a person who had been shot, according to a news release from RCPD.
On scene, police found a man with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim was conscious and able to tell authorities information about the shooting suspect. Police were able to identify and find the suspect as 30-year-old Trevon Spotted Eagle, of Rapid City, nearby.
Spotted Eagle was placed under arrest for attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a former violent offender.
The victim was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
