INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Pickleball Club just finished hosting the first-ever Rally for Riley 24-hour Pickleball Marathon.
The goal for the event was to raise $5,000 for Riley Hospital for Children. Despite poor weather, $7,200 was raised during the event.
During the fundraiser, two pickleball players attempted to nab world records for the highest number of serves in one minute.
Janet Meeker for the women had a high of 61 serves, which is officially being submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records.
Chris Sears attempted to best the current men’s record of 73 serves in a minute. He came up just short of his goal, totaling 69 serves.
