The Tennessee Titans decided to part ways with general manager Ran Carthon after ending the 2024 NFL season with a 3-14 record, worse than Carthon’s first year as general manager. Many, including some Titans’ players, are not happy with this decision, but this is where we are, and it’s time to move forward.
Moving forward is exactly what the Titans are doing on Wednesday, the day after firing Carthon. The Titans have begun to reach out to teams with interview requests to fill the vacant general manager position. As it stands, Brian Callahan is set to remain the head coach, so whoever joins the Titans as GM will already have a head coach in place, and they’ll need to work well with one Chad Brinker.
Below, we have begun to track all of the interview requests and reports about the general manager search. As more candidates are requested and interviewed, this tracker will be updated with that information as well.
Mike Borgonzi

Kansas City Chiefs assistant GM Mike Borgonzi is a longtime member of the Chiefs front office and is a name that always seems to come up during general manager searches. He has been influential in helping the Chiefs rise to the pinnacle of the NFL and has experience in every facet of the front office.

Catherine Hickman

There aren’t many female executives in the NFL, but Catherine Hickman is one of them. She’s the current assistant general manager and vice president of football operations for the Cleveland Browns. She spent four seasons with the Canadian Football League before joining the NFL in 2019 as the football operations coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles, a position she held until 2021 when she became the vice president of football operations. In 2022, Hickman joined the Browns as assistant general manager and vice president of football operations, where she remains today.

Terrance Gray

Buffalo Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray has seen his stock rise in recent years and made his rounds during the 2024 general manager hiring cycle, interviewing with the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers. He has 21-years worth of experience at all levels of the front office after starting his career in the college scouting department with the Kansas City Chiefs. In all, he has worked with the Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings and Bills.

Reggie McKenzie

Currently, Reggie McKenzie is a senior personnel executive for Miami Dolphins, but he’s been around football for a long time. He played at Tennessee in college and has a couple of professional seasons on the field under his belt as well. He joined the Packers as a player personnel assistant in 1994, where he stayed through 2011. In 2012, McKenzie joined the Oakland Raiders as their general manager until 2018. In 2019, he became a senior personnel executive for the Dolphins, which is where he’s remained the last six years.

Ed Dodds

Dodds is an interesting candidate who has worked in Indianapolis with general manager Chris Ballard since 2017. Dodds would bring 21-years of experience to the Titans front office, including stints in scouting and personnel before ascending to the assistant general manager position with the Colts. In all, he has worked for the Oakland Raiders, Seattle Seahawks and Colts during his career.

John Spytek

Spytek is another candidate with a tremendous amount of experience within scouting departments across the NFL. In his career, he has spent time as a scout with the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos. When he arrived in Tampa Bay in 2016, he started his climb up the ladder under general manager Jason Licht and has played a major role in the development of the Bucs roster.
