WABASH COUNTY, Ind. — Two teenagers were killed in a single-vehicle crash in Wabash County.
According to a press release from Indiana State Police, an off-duty trooper spotted a crash in the 5000 block of County Road 300 West around 8:30 a.m. Sunday. After the trooper found the scene, ISP’s crash reconstruction team was called to the area.
Investigators later determined the driver of a 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser was travelling northbound on County Road 300 West before the crash.
Police believe, at some point, the driver lost control of the car and veered off the west side of the roadway. The driver then overcorrected, slid sideways off the road completely and struck a tree.
The car’s driver and lone passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene by the Wabash County Coroner’s Office. ISP identified the driver as 16-year-old Sean Murray Jr. of Wabash and the passenger as 19-year-old Kameron Garriott of Andrews.
It is currently unclear exactly when the crash occurred and how much time passed before the off-duty trooper found the scene. As of this article’s publication, no additional information on the crash had been made available.
