At least two people were injured in an overnight fire Tuesday at an apartment building in the Old Town neighborhood on the Near North Side, officials said.
An extra-alarm fire broke out about 1 a.m. at a 4-story building at 1446 N. Wells Street. A 2-11 alarm was called at the scene, Chicago Fire Department officials said.
Two residents were taken in fair to serious condition to area hospitals. The extra-alarm fire was struck out, and the cause of the fire was under investigation, officials said.
