SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Two people have been found dead at the scene of a house fire in Wessington Springs, the South Dakota Attorney General’s office announced Friday.
According to the AG’s office, two bodies were found at a house fire scene in Wessington Springs. The fire was reported at 11:30 p.m. Thursday night and the bodies were recovered on Friday.
“The scene is being preserved, evidence is being collected, and an autopsy will be completed Monday,” Attorney General Marty Jackley said in a news release. “We are requesting law enforcement be given the time and space to complete a thorough investigation.”
The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation. The names of the people who died are not being released by authorities at this time.
