Two people have died after the driver of a vehicle lost control and drove the vehicle into a building in Brighton Park late Sunday, Chicago police said.

The car was traveling south in the 4300 block of South Archer Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. when the crash occurred, according to a witness who spoke with police.

Paramedics transported the 18-year-old man who was driving the car and a woman in the passenger seat to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where they were both pronounced dead shortly after. The woman died at 11:32 p.m. Sunday and the man died at 12:56 a.m. Monday.

The Major Accidents unit is investigating the cause of the accident, police said. No additional information was available from police Monday morning.
