SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — An indictment unsealed this week says 2 foreign nationals are charged in a years-long conspiracy of “swatting” attacks and bomb threats.

26-year-old Thomas Szabo of Romania and 21-year-old Nemanja Radovanovic of Serbia are facing a list of charges, including conspiracy and threats and false information.

The indictment says the 2 were involved in the conspiracy with others from December 2020 through January.

They would get their victims’ personal information and would report false emergencies provoking a police response to their homes.

Szabo was allegedly the organizer.

Officials add that Szabo was responsible for a threat at the School of Mines in Rapid City in 2022.

The case was handled on a national level.
