WARREN COUNTY, Ind. — The Indiana State Police Lafayette Post arrested two people on Wednesday afternoon following a theft investigation.

Per ISP, Tara and Andrew Pickett of Attica, Ind., are charged on multiple counts, including but not limited to theft and money laundering.

ISP said the investigation began in April after they received a tip from a Warren County business owner. He reported suspected theft of both business and personal assets after discovering missing funds.

This led the owner to find that his office manager, 35-year-old Tara Prickett, had reportedly transferred money from his business to an account belonging to her and her husband, 36-year-old Andrew Prickett.

ISP then began an investigation, resulting in additional evidence that Tara had used business credit cards for unauthorized transactions. She is also accused of manipulating bank and credit card statements so that the theft could be concealed. ISP found that over $600,00 in unauthorized transfers and purchases took place between December 2018 and April 2024.

After obtaining multiple search warrants, ISP said they tracked down the Pricketts and took them into custody. They were then transported to the Warren County Jail.

Tara Pickett faces the following charges:

  • Six counts of Level 5 Felony theft
  • 13 counts of Level 6 Felony theft
  • Five counts of identity deception (Level 6 Felony)
  • Money laundering of at least $50,000 (Level 5 Felony)
  • Corrupt business influence (Level 5 Felony)

  • Two counts of Level 6 Felony theft
  • Money laundering of at least $50,000 (Level 5 Felony)
  • Corrupt business influence (Level 5 Felony)
