UPDATE 6:36 p.m.: Edinburgh Police confirmed the two suspects they arrested were a 27-year-old woman, Alea Turentine and a 33-year-old woman, Breanna Johnson. They face charges of theft, resistance with a vehicle and child endangerment. The children were announced as being two years old and 10 years old. No injuries were reported.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that two people are in custody following a police chase on I-65, in which a vehicle exceeded speeds of 100 mph and had two children in the back seat.

According to JCSO, the chase started in Edinburgh, more specifically following a shoplifting incident at the Indiana Premium Outlets. The suspect then fled in a vehicle, leading police on a pursuit. It ended when JCSO officers used stop sticks to assist officers from the Edinburgh Police Department.

The suspects have not been named at this time. FOX59/CBS4 have reached out to Edinburgh PD for more info, and will update this story once it is made available.
