SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – A Yankton man – charged with 2nd degree murder – made his first court appearance Monday morning.
According to court documents, 19-year-old Theodore Kranig Jr. is accused of stabbing a man and slitting his throat.
Police say Kranig was drinking at the man’s apartment on Friday night. On Saturday, Yankton police said they were investigating a “suspicious death.”
The affidavit says Kranig told police the man assaulted him first, so he grabbed a knife and hurt him.
Court documents do not reveal the victim’s age, or his relationship with Kranig.
