SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO)– A search for a 15-year-old boy ended Thursday morning.

At police briefing Thursday, Sioux Falls Police announced they were searching for a 15-year-old boy after he was arrested for having a weapon outside Axtell Park school Wednesday.

The boy was taken to juvenile custody, where he escaped. Shortly after police briefing ended, the boy was located by police, according to Sioux Falls Police Department spokesman Sam Clemens.

A court order was obtained by police in order to provide further information about a juvenile suspect to public. It allowed police to release specific details about the juvenile, including his name, Clemens said at police briefing.

Since the suspect has been caught and no longer a threat, his name and photo will not be released.

KELOLAND News has reached out to the Sioux Falls School District for more information.
