SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The next couple of weeks are going to be busy for nearly everyone between Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and New Year’s. Those holidays also lead to a lot of shopping for the hosts in our lives. That’s why a local grocery store is offering up 12 days of deals.
The Sioux Falls Food Co-op wants to lend a helping hand to everyone this holiday season, no matter how you celebrate.
“Our community, especially in our neighborhood is very diverse and I feel like it’s very important to make a point of that,” Becky Squyer, Marketing and Community Outreach Coordinator with the Sioux Falls Food Co-op, said. “Inclusivity is definitely top tier for us here.”
On Sunday, the Co+op’s 12 Days of Holiday Hosting sales and specials kicks off.
“We’ll kick off with two days that will feature Christmas and those will be kind of a deal on Christmas-themed items,” Squyer said. “And then we’re doing a little thing on Boxing Day and we’re going to feature items in our deli case — grab and go food, that kind of thing. Then there’s Kwanzaa, Hanukkah.”
The Co+op is also offering some sales for some lesser-known holidays. For example, 10% off popcorn and candy on World Introvert Day on January 2nd.
“Which is maybe my favorite day! And then there’s also like international mind and body wellness day kind of wrapped in there too at the very end,” Squyer said.
Giving everyone a chance to feel seen this holiday season.
“While we understand that, you know, ten percent off doesn’t really feed to that bottom dollar it’s more so hoping that we can make small impact on celebrating diversity,” Squyer said.
For Kwanzaa, the Co-op is offering 10% off items to make Hoppin’ John and for Hanukkah, the deal is 10 percent off items to make Matzo Ball Soup.
