The Cincinnati Police Department says one person has died after a crash Saturday night in the 300 block of E. 5th Street.Police say a 2008 Dodge Avenger was traveling southbound on Sycamore Street when it was hit by a 2017 Chevy Malibu, which was traveling East 5th Street.Officials say the driver of the Malibu fled the scene but the passenger of the vehicle, Yahdea Brown, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she later died.Cincinnati police say the driver of the Malibu, 36-year-old Shalom Jones, turned himself into police and has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.Authorities say the driver and passenger of the Avenger were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact CPD’s Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
