KOKOMO, Ind. — A Kokomo resident was pronounced dead after a Thursday morning accident outside a mobile home community.
According to a news release from the Kokomo Police Department, officers responded to a community in the 2700 block of North Washington St. at around 8 a.m. on Thursday in reference to a three car collision with serious injuries.
A preliminary investigation stated that a 2019 Kia Soul, driven by 32-year-old Jade Carlile, was attempting to turn out of the community onto Washington Street. A 2020 Dodge Ram, driven by a Kokomo resident, collided with the Kia Soul, causing it to spin and flip upside down in the northbound lanes. The Dodge Ram continued southbound, striking a tree and a home.
A 1997 Dodge Ram, driven by another Kokomo resident, was driving north on Washington Street during this time. The vehicle reportedly attempted to avoid the Kia, but struck the overturned vehicle on the driver’s side door. The 1997 Dodge Ram continued northwest and came to a rest after it struck a curb.
Carlile was pronounced dead at the scene after first responders “rendered advanced life saving measures,” according to the release. The crash remains under investigation.
