One person died and four people were wounded in a shooting in San Francisco’s North Beach on Sunday night, according to a preliminary police investigation.
The San Francisco Police Department said shots were fired just before 11 p.m. at Columbus and Broadway, a busy intersection with nightclubs and restaurants in the neighborhood known as “Little Italy.”
Deputy Chief Raj Vaswani posted on Twitter at 12:22 a.m. that there were “possibly” five victims with one who was deceased. The condition of the four who were treated for injuries is unknown, Vaswani said.
The police department said that it will not release any more information until later Monday after further investigation is complete.
“We will be working on this through the night into tomorrow,” Vaswani wrote.
