INDIANAPOLIS — A person was critically injured in a shooting on the west side of Indianapolis Saturday night.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Denison Street — which is located near Interstate 70 — around 10:18 p.m. on a report of a person shot. When police arrived at the scene, they located a victim with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.
IMPD has confirmed that the victim is in critical condition. Police have not yet made any additional information on the shooting available.
Counting the person who was shot on Denison Street, at least at least six people were shot throughout Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon and evening.
Two victims were injured in a shooting in the 10000 block of East 42nd Street around 1:30 p.m. Then, a man was shot and killed at an apartment complex in the 3800 block of West Michigan Street around 6 p.m.
At about 9:20 p.m., two individuals were shot in the 2000 block of West 65th Street.
As of 10:38 p.m., only one person who was shot on Saturday had died — the man involved in the shooting on West Michigan Street.
