INDIANAPOLIS — Police said a pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle near an intersection on the city’s near west side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, first responders were called to the intersection of 16th Street and Tibbs Avenue at roughly 1: 41 p.m. on Friday on report of a pedestrian struck.
Police confirmed that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle and was transported to a hospital in serious condition. According to officers on scene, the pedestrian was a woman who was hit while crossing the road.
Police said the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian stayed on scene and is cooperating with authorities.
